Upper School Honor Code
We believe in character-driven education and academic excellence fostered by a supportive community that values the dignity, self-worth, and the potential of each individual.
Our Foundation of TrustWe believe in character-driven education and academic excellence fostered by a supportive community that values the dignity, self-worth, and the potential of each individual. And we empower our students with the responsibility to both cultivate and maintain a culture of mutual respect where each student is known and valued for their unique contributions to our school.
By Our Students, For Our StudentsDuring the 20-21 school year, the Upper School student council revised the traditional Honor Code. Based on feedback from the entire community, they updated the pledge to better reflect our values as a school with a focus on respect, empathy, and belonging, in addition to our commitment to personal and academic integrity. The resulting Community and Academic Codes represent our unified belief that a strong community is built on a foundation of trust, compassion, and respect for one another.
THE COMMUNITY CODE
We, the members of the Severn community, value respect, empathy, and trust. To uphold these virtues we strive to regard others with civility, foster an environment of belonging, and exhibit character of unquestionable integrity.
THE ACADEMIC CODEAs a Severn student, I pledge to value the genuine academic achievements of my peers and of myself, be accountable for my actions, and preserve the integrity of our academic system.
