The principal of your gift is invested and kept intact, and a percentage of the fund’s value is expended for the endowment’s purpose every year, extending the longevity and impact of your gift. Financial Aid Funds

For many families, affording an independent school education is a sacrifice, though one that can be an important investment in their child’s future. Severn awards nearly $3 million in financial aid annually to students from both low and middle-income families. Your gift to this category of funds ensures that families with financial need have access to the benefits of a Severn education.
Faculty PD Funds

We provide training for teachers throughout the school year, host a stellar program of summer classes taught by and for Severn faculty, support travel to conferences, offer grants for professional growth, and more. Your gift to this category of funds ensures that we can attract and retain expert and dynamic faculty who are committed to lifelong learning.
Student Program Funds

Classes, discussions, projects, and assessments are not the sum of education at Severn. Through our robust series of programs, our students learn to examine and appreciate the varied perspectives and experiences possible in our world. Your gift to this category of funds also enables us to invite talented performers, speakers, educators, and activists to bring the outside world to Severn.
DEI Funds

We commit to incorporating diverse perspectives, materials, and experiences in and out of the classroom to cultivate a culture of belonging for every student. Your gift to this category of funds supports programs that foster an appreciation of different cultures, combat bias, and promote genuine understanding and acceptance of others.

Support

Support for Severn School’s endowment is an opportunity for donors to make an investment in the future of every Severn Admiral. The principal of the gift is invested and kept intact and a percentage of the fund’s value is expended for the endowment’s purpose every year. This allows for the donation to have an impact over a much longer period than if it were spent all at once. Our current endowment is approximately $20 million and provides in excess of $500k in annual revenue to the school.
