Jacob Randall ’25 Hits 1,000 Point Mark

Randall had 16 points on the night, enough to become only the 8^th Admiral in Severn School history to score 1,000 or more points.

"I take great pride in celebrating Jacob's recent accomplishment of breaking the 1,000-point threshold at Severn School,” said Mike Glasby, Varsity Head Coach for Boys Basketball.  "This achievement is a testament to his dedication, preparation, and ability. Jacob has been a consummate teammate and leader by example within our program for a number of years.

 

It’s a blessing to be able to achieve such a rare accomplishment, and I wouldn’t have been able to do so without the help of my current and former teammates,” said Randall. “Their support, along with Coach Glasby allowing me to become more confident with the ball starting with my freshman year, are why I can celebrate this achievement.”

 

For now though, the Varsity captain is focused on the season ahead and working to be the best leader he can be. “I want to lead us to another championship,” said Randall. “We have some younger guys on the team so our overall chemistry and confidence will expand as the season goes on.”

 

In 2023-24, the Admirals brought home the MIAA B-Conference Championship banner for the first time in nearly three decades.

 

Randall, one of three seniors on the 2024-25 squad, plans to continue his playing career at the collegiate level and is currently considering amongst several options, all of which will allow him to pursue both his academic and athletic goals after graduating from Severn.

“Jacob is a young man of high character, academic prowess and discipline,” added Glasby. “I am extremely excited for the remainder of his senior basketball season to unfold, but even more excited about the opportunities in front of him and the impressive young adult that he will be beyond Severn School."

 

This marks the second season in a row that an Admiral has achieved this milestone. Just a season ago, Randall’s former teammate Kingston Price ’24 earned his 1000^th career point.

In addition to Price and now Randall, LJ Owens ’18 (Anne Arundel County record 2,166 points), AJ Burch ‘19, Deon Peters ’05, Brad Fowler ’93 P’24’26, John Vereen ’95, and Denard Melton ’98 round out the elite group of Admirals who have 1,000 career points or more.

The Admirals compete at home again on December 17 against Archbishop Curley HS.
