Admirals Wrap up a Successful Fall Sports Season

Six teams earned playoff spots, where they collectively notched six post-season victories and earned one JV championship. And Cross Country runner Emma Patrick ’26 now has back-to-back conference wins. Full highlights include:

Varsity Field Hockey posted an impressive 10-6-2 record and made it to the semifinal round of the IAAM B-Conference playoffs before being bested by John Carroll.

Varsity Football went 7-4 in the squad’s first season competing in the B-Conference, clinching a spot in the playoffs after a 32-14 win over Mt. Carmel. The Admirals’ playoff run ended after they fell short in a semifinal matchup against Archbishop Curley. While not a conference game, the Admirals came out on top in the Severn River Classic for the first time in eight years, beating rival St. Mary’s 21-13 in what many would consider the true highlight of the season.

Varsity Girls Soccer went 10-4-3 overall and made it to the championship game in the IAAM B-Conference after knocking off Bryn Mawr in an OT thriller in the quarterfinals and then top-seeded Mount de Sales in the semis.

Varsity Boys Soccer ended 13-5-1, again earning a spot in the MIAA B-Conference championship match. The Admirals once again faced a tough St. Paul’s squad and came up short by one goal.

JV Boys Soccer went 10-2-1 on the season and secured the Admirals’ sole championship title with a 3-0 home victory over St. Mary’s.

Cross Country runner Emma Patrick maintained her position as the top runner in the conference, winning the IAAM B-Conference championship for the second year in a row and helping to secure a second-place overall finish for the Girls Varsity Cross Country team. Ella Foote ’25 came in tenth place in the conference meet with a race time of 23:26.

On the boys side, the Varsity Cross Country runners earned second place in the MIAA B-Conference Championships, led by Tim Wright ’25, who came in 8^th overall with a race time of 17:34. JV runner Josh Hale ’25 had a second-place finish in the JV race with a time of 19:20.

The other fall JV squads also impressed, with the majority posting winning seasons. JV Field Hockey went 7-4-1, JV Girls Soccer was 6-3, and JV Football went undefeated at 7-0.

Another noteworthy achievement from the fall season was celebrating Coach Mike McCarthy’s 200^th career win. Under Coach McCarthy’s steady leadership, the Admirals reached this milestone with a 2-1 victory over St. Mary’s in the MIAA B-Conference semifinals.

Other individual achievements include Emma Patrick's first-place finish in the Cross Country Maryland Private School Championships, with a race time of 18:04 – nearly two minutes ahead of the second-place finisher. Ella Foote, Gemma Becker ’26, Caroline Brenia ’25, Elizabeth Maltz ’27, Olivia Jishi ’26, Nyla Pratt ’26, Tenley Mann ’26, and Temple Sermon ’28 also represented the girls team in the Large School Girls 5K Race. Tim Wright, Eli Wilkins ’26, Barrett Vaughan ’27, Josh Hale, Luca Gargagliano ’27, Charlie Hilgartner ’25, Sam Salinas ’25, Brett Paquin ’27, Nat Patty ’27, and Cooper Hamilton ’25 competed in the Large School Varsity Boys 5K Race.

This fall also marked the inaugural season for the JV and Varsity Girls Volleyball teams. Both squads posted impressive wins against more established teams, setting the tone for what will undoubtedly be a competitive program moving forward.
